Learning from director-mentors like Baz Luhrmann, Michael Slovis, and Danny Cannon, Ukrainian American Olenka Denysenko uses dynamic camera work and intricate blocking to visually present a rich and cinematic style of storytelling. Growing up as a dancer in the renowned Ukraininan dance troupe, Syzokryli, she learned to use movement and energy to convey her stories to a live audience. Now as a director, Olenka utilizes those same principals this time with actors and camerawork to tell emotionally driven stories in a visual medium.
